A Doctrine of Non-Resistance is Un-American

There's a passage in the preamble of the Declaration of Independence that I really like to harp on. And I mean REALLY:

“Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed” 

** REPEAT **

For people who don't really know English that well, it means most people would rather just “go along to get along”  ... “put up and shut up" …  hence, a “doctrine of non-resistance against arbitrary power and oppression”  [1] … rather than say “Hell no! we're not taking this bullshit anymore!” 

The most fundamental American principle is:

“Hell no! We're not taking this bullshit anymore!” 

But, in the USA today, people care more about who won the game, who's cheating with whom in Hollywood, or celebrity ladies' fashions [2] than 1000+ page Omnibus bills that Congress votes on without even reading but have SEVERE implications on our lives.

Oh, almost forgot. Another part I like to harp on are the last two words: “sacred honor” 

“And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.” 

Now, as far as finding “Sacred Honor" amongst those in high positions of power who pose before the American flag inside government buildings surrounded by barricades and phalanxes of armed guards in the District of Columbia today.... well, you have about as good chance of that as you do of finding a good livery stable anywhere in the United States or summiting Mount Everest in nothing but a swimsuit and a pair of flip-flops. If you're not sure what a livery stable is, see below:

1) Per both Article 6  Maryland Constitution - Declaration of Rights and Article 10 of the New Hampshire State Constitution - Bill of Rights: “... whenever the ends of Government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the People may, and of right ought, to reform the old, or establish a new Government; the doctrine of non-resistance against arbitrary power and oppression is absurd, slavish and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.” 

2) I saw not long ago the big news in the supermarket tabloids that Jen's engagement is off. Meanwhile, do you know what the policy and lawmakers are doing behind closed doors in those government buildings surrounded by barricades and armed guards in D.C.?

Yes, this video is indeed unsafe -- to the preservation of the secret these cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men have perpetrated on the American people for the past century, that is! In fact, the date of this post --22 December 2013-- marks the centenary of the "ill concerted and incongruous project of faction" (like President Washington warned us about in his Farewell Adddress -- that being the bill that established the Federal Reserve) was deceptively snuck thru Senate after most senators had gone home for the Holidays! In his Farewell Address, President Jackson warned us in no uncertain terms that; "unless you become more watchful in your States and check this spirit of monopoly and thirst for exclusive privileges you will in the end find that the most important powers of Government have been given or bartered away, and the control over your dearest interests has passed into the hands of these corporations."

We sure have let him down now, haven't we!?!?

Their power is such that, as a most contemptible and audacious mockery, they have flaunted by misusing his visage on their banknotes for the past century and the American people haven't the slightest clue they are being gang-raped on a massive scale! Not at all unlike having a school named in honor of Nathan Bedford Forrest in which Negroes comprise over half of the student body! At least corrective measures are being taken to correct the latter!

National Picnic, Barbecue, and Fireworks Day?

I suppose now is as good a time as any to call attention to one of Thomas Jefferson's most famous, yet tragically under-appreciated, writings -- the anniversary of which has been reduced to what I sadly refer to as “National Picnic, Barbecue, and Fireworks Day.” MOST folks in the U.S simply call it “the fourth of July” because they haven't the slightest clue as to just what it was our Founding Fathers signed on that day in 1776 beyond the “all men are created equal” and “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” parts. I am quick to correct them by telling them “It's INDEPENDENCE Day” -- after all, that's what appears on most calendars in red ink. I mean, really, who ever says “Merry 25th of December” or “Happy First of January?”

It is my contention that the (white Christian) people of British America did not have it anywhere near as bad as people of ALL races and faiths do in the USA today.

In his essay, The Stylistic Artistry of the Declaration of Independence [featured at the National Archives web site], Stephen E. Lucas notes grievance 10:

“He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.” ... The `multitude of New Offices' referred to the customs posts that had been created in the 1760s to control colonial smuggling. The `swarms of Officers' that were purportedly eating out the substance of the colonies' three million people numbered about fifty in the entire continent. But Congress could hardly assail George III as a tyrant for appointing a few dozen men to enforce the laws against smuggling, so it clothed the charge in vague, evocative imagery that gave significance and emotional resonance to what otherwise might have seemed a rather paltry grievance.”

So, a little basic arithmetic here:

3 million people then, 330+ million people now = growth factor multiple of 110

If the “swarms of officers that harassed our people, and ate out their substance” grew at a rate equal to that of our population then that would amount to about 5500 customs agents (50 x 110). The issue was smuggling and more likely than not to avoid import duties (tariffs, taxes). So, I'll begin with everybody's favorite federal agency:

Need I list more? The above adds up to 471,869 but there are many, MANY more -- not to mention state and local police and regulators. And, since the Posse Comitatus Act has essentially been nullified, you might as well factor in the Department of Defense and National Guard as well.

Therefore, in conclusion --and even low-balling the numbers to keep them simple-- whereas our population has grown by a factor of 110, the SWARMS OF OFFICERS brought on by MULTITUDES OF NEW OFFICES ---INCONCEIVABLE EVEN IN MR. JEFFERSON'S WORST NIGHTMARES--- have grown by a factor of NO LESS THAN TEN THOUSAND. Hmmm... what was it, again, that he wrote in his May 27, 1788 letter to Edward Carrington?

“The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield,

and government to gain ground.”

Just how much ground was he thinking of? Certainly not THAT MUCH!

And, to think, I'm ONLY discussing grievance 10 here. Our flag --not to mention the memory of all those who have fallen in combat defending it-- is being dishonored by “cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men” --and women-- who pose before it inside government buildings surrounded by barricades and armed guards in the District of Columbia and elsewhere. Stands to reason that those charlatans most likely think that President Washington's Farewell Address was a place where postal letter-carriers delivered his mail -- all the while perpetrating and perpetuating an ENDLESS "train of abuses and usurpations” (not to mention the imposition of ever-higher TAXES) that dwarf those suffered by the colonists in 18th Century British America which irrefutably constitute COUNTLESS situations of “dire distress” due to “extreme danger to life and property!”

Therefore, as Florida's chief justice, the Honorable Gerald Kogan, presciently foresaw, LIBERTY FINALLY HAS FALLEN, it is entirely appropriate to display it with the “union down”
